love McGough Nature Park! It features a pleasant, less-than-a-mile loop trail with a recycled-tire surface, which is easy on the joints. The park also offers side paths and boardwalks for exploring other natural areas. Unfortunately, the boardwalk leading to the Intracoastal Waterway is currently under repair due to damage from the 2024 hurricane season. A posted sign indicates an anticipated reopening in 2027. I especially enjoy seeing the rescued birds of prey, particularly “Sarge,” the bald eagle! The area around the pond is also a great spot to observe and feed the turtles. Finally, the nature center is worth a visit to see the other animals they care for. – Brando
